Disney Parks and Resorts Selects la comunidad
November 28, 2005
By Mariana Lemann

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, a division of The Walt Disney Co., has appointed Miami-based la comunidad as its Hispanic creative agency, according to sources. Neither the client nor the agency could be reached for comment.

The Disney division began its review in September after having worked with Chicago-based Lápiz, an incumbent in the review, since 1998. The third finalist was New York-based The Vidal Partnership. Long Beach, Calif.-based Grupo Gallegos was a participant during the initial stages of the review, but eventually the shop withdrew.

Disney Parks and Resorts spent $7.7 million in Spanish-language media in 2004 and $7.2 million throughout July 2005, per TNS Media Intelligence.
