Bassell Out as CEO of The Bravo Group

In an unexpected move, Gary Bassell, who in November 2004 was hired by The Bravo Group as chairman and CEO, left the shop. In a statement, the company said Bassell left "to pursue other interests."
Bassell was hired away from Miami-based la comunidad to guide The Bravo Group forward. He has been replaced by Eddie Gonzalez, a 24-year Y&R veteran, who began his career at Y&R Puerto Rico. Prior to his appointment, Gonzalez was chairman and CEO of Y&R Madrid.
Executives at the New York-based shop were not immediately available to comment on Bassell's sudden departure.
