Acknowledging the power of Regional Mexican Music, Billboard magazine this fall will hold its first Regional Mexican Music Summit. The summit, taking place in Los Angeles on Nov. 13-14, will be presented in association with Starbucks Coffee.
The two-day event aims to provide a meeting and networking venue for everyone involved in the industry, from artists to labels, concert promoters, retailers, managers, marketers and advertising executives, according to Billboard.
Sales of regional Mexican music account for more than half of Latin music sales, according to the Recording Industry Association of America.
Sponsors include Tequila Jimador, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers, BMI and Urban Box Office, which recently announced the launch of Fronterizo Records, which will showcase ranchera, Norteño and banda among other genres.
Billboard is a sister publication of Marketing y Medios.
