U.S. Hispanic Shops Win at El Ojo

Long Beach, Calif.-based Grupo Gallegos was recognized as best U.S. Hispanic agency at this year's El Ojo de Iberoamérica, held Nov. 6-8 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Conill Advertising, with offices in New York, Miami and Los Angeles, and la comunidad in Miami came in second.
Favio Ucedo, creative director of Grupo Gallegos, was recognized as best creative, followed by Aldo Quevedo, president and chief creative director of Omnicom's Dieste Harmel & Partners, and by brothers Joaquín and José Mollá, founders of la comunidad, a creative shop serving the U.S. Hispanic market with offices in both Miami and Buenos Aires.
Landia, also based in Buenos Aires, was chosen the best production company serving the U.S. Hispanic market, followed by Flip Films and La Banda Films. Directors awarded for work crafted for the U.S. Hispanic market: Andy Fogwill of Landia, followed by Pucho Mentasti of Believe Media, and Nicolás Kasakoff of Nunchaku.
Virgin Mobile, the California Milk Processor Board and Anheuser-Busch were named best advertisers.
