Turner Launches Broadband Campaign for Latinos
December 12, 2006
By MyM Staff
Time Warner’s Turner Broadcasting System this week began its first consumer marketing campaign on broadband designed to reach the Latino community. The initiative features episodes of Court TV's nonfiction series Psychic Detectives that have been dubbed into Spanish to stream on AOL Latino.
Three episodes of the show, which explore real crimes in which psychics aid detectives, began running Monday on AOL Latino. Following that run, the episodes will be featured on Courttv.com along with two more Spanish-language episodes of that series.
"Our mission is to bring Court TV programming to a wider, more diverse audience," said Mary Corigliano, senior vice president of marketing for Court TV, in a statement. "We feel that by partnering with AOL Latino and personalizing the popular Psychic Detectives series for Spanish-speaking viewers, we're on our way to achieving that goal."
Promotions to drive traffic to Psychic Detectives on AOL Latino will take place both via AOL Latino and local spot radio buys on Spanish radio stations in major markets, according to the companies. Court TV will make an additional push to drive traffic to a targeted Spanish-language area on Courttv.com via promotions with media outlets serving the Latino market.
Corigliano said, "This is the start of many multicultural initiatives to come."
