V-me to Air Nightly Political Convention Coverage

NEW YORK Network upstart V-me is expected to announce plans today (Aug. 18) to broadcast one-hour nightly specials from inside the Democratic and Republican conventions.
Political coverage of both parties' conventions is part of the network's Participa 2008 initiative to inform Hispanic voters on the critical issues facing the U.S. Latino population in the presidential election.
Anchor Jorge Gestoso will lead the network's coverage in Spanish from the Democratic National Convenction in Denver beginning Aug. 24 and from the Republican National Convention next month in St. Paul, Minn.
The reporting team for both conventions will include: Luis Sarmiento from the convention floor and Silvina Sterin-Pensel from V-me's studios in New York.
Nightly broadcasts will provide convention highlights, the day's political news and interviews with delegates, elected officials and political analysts. Coverage will air nightly during the conventions starting at 9 p.m. Eastern.
