Entravision to Launch 'Agenda'
September 19, 2008
By Katy Bachman, Mediaweek
NEW YORK Just in time for the election, Spanish-language broadcaster Entravision Communications announced Friday (Sept. 19) the launch of a weekly public affairs program that will air both on the group's TV and radio stations.
Hosted by Daniel Garza, "Agenda Washington" will debut Sept. 21 on Entravision's Univision affiliates as well as 36 radio stations, many in key battleground states such as Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Florida.
Broadcast from the nation's capitol and produced by Entravision, the half-hour program will cover the week's most pressing news and events impacting the Hispanic community. In addition to one-on-one interviews with government officials, each weekly broadcast will conclude with a debate between policy and political experts.
"We at Entravision are proud to launch ‘Agenda Washington’ to fill the political news void in Hispanic communities around the country," said Walter Ulloa, chairman and CEO of Entravision. "Latinos are playing a greater role in the political process across all levels and this show will meet the ongoing demand for relevant, compelling and impactful news to help this community stay informed on what matters most to them."
