Red Car's Seth Gottlieb to Join Miami Office from L.A.

May 11, 2008 -- Post-production house Red Car has announced that Los Angeles editor Seth Gottlieb will join its Miami office, effective on May 19.

Gottlieb comes to Red Car, Miami, after working for five years in the company's Los Angeles office, where he began as a lead assistant editor and demonstrated a variety of skills in graphic and sound design as well as traditional editing, per Red Car.

Gottlieb's work at Red Car has included U.S. Hispanic and Latin American clients including Burger King, Hyundai and Tide, per a company press statement.

His work has also included national television commercials, music videos and award-winning short films for clients including Burger King, Time Warner Cable and TMZ.

Gottlieb has worked in the past with editorial companies including Lost Planet, Superior Assembly and Brass Knuckles and agencies including Widen + Kennedy, Saatchi & Saatchi and Deutsch.

Red Car provides post-production editing, audio, animation and graphics services for cross platform spots in English and in Spanish.

In addition to Miami, the company has offices in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Dallas and Buenos Aires.




V-me Taps Univision Sales VP Michael Bollo For New Sales, Sponsorship Post

May 01, 2008 -- Spanish-language TV network V-me has named former Univision sales executive Michael Bollo to the new post of vp, sales and sponsorship, V-me announced today.

Bollo will report to Frank Donaldson, V-me's svp, director of sales, who is formerly of Univision. Bollo will be based in New York, per a press statement.

News of his appointment comes as the fledgling network prepares to host its first upfront presentation to advertisers on May 14 in New York.

"The network will benefit from the strong sales experience and deep roots in the Hispanic marketing community brought by Michael, Frank and our growing sales operation," Carmen DiRienzo, V-me's president, said in a statement.

He joins V-me from Univision, where he worked in various posts and most recently served as vp, national sales. Prior to Univision, Bollo worked at USA Networks and with the market rep firms Major Market Network and TeleRep. He also worked in the media buying departments of advertising agencies including Bates, Zenith and DDB, per V-me.





¡Sorpresa! Names AOL Veteran Kate Condon, Exec Producer, Sorpresatv.com

May 01, 2008 -- Hispanic children's cable network ¡Sorpresa! said today it has named AOL veteran Kate Condon as executive producer of Sorpresatv.com.

She will report to Chris Firestone, evp, digital media and broadcast operations, and will be based in the Washington D.C. area, the network said,

Condon's experience in Web application and design is expected to be instrumental in the expansion of the network's online capabilities, digital community and audience reach, per a press statement.

She also will be responsible for growing and integrating the online presence of the network's advertising and programming sponsors, the network said.

"Kate has an exceptional ability to connect directly to young audiences by providing kids fun and educational interactive opportunities on multiple platforms," Stuart Rekant, CEO, ¡Sorpresa!, said in a statement. "Her expertise in Web development will accelerate the growth of our online effort and enable Sorpresatv.com to expand its user base and advertising and programming partnerships."

Condon has produced numerous cross-platform interactive educational programs aimed at young audiences, 2 to 17. Her work on the youth Web portals at AOL, which combined education and entertainment with user participation, garnered two Telly Awards in 2006 and 2007, per the network.

¡Sorpresa! is operated by Juniper Content Corp. and is broadcast via cable networks, including Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Time Warner Cable and through third-party multiplatforms such as MobiTV, which serves Alltel Wireless, AT&T and Sprint.


Luis Roldan Mega TV's svp, GM, in Puerto Rico, will oversee the retransmission of Mega TV on WSJU-TV, Channel.


SBS' Mega TV, Puerto Rico, Names Roldan SVP, GM

April 25, 2008 -- Spanish Broadcasting System said today it has named Luis Roldan svp, GM, of Mega TV in Puerto Rico. He will oversee the retransmission of Mega TV on WSJU-TV, Channel 30, per a press statement.

Roldan joins Mega TV from WKAQ-TV-TV, Telemundo's flagship station in Puerto Rico. He also worked for WNJU-TV in New York, where he served in various sales positions. Roldan began his career at WNBC-TV in New York, serving as an account executive for three years.

"We are pleased to have someone of Luis' caliber, talent and experience joining Mega TV, Raul Alarcón, CEO and chairman, SBS, said in a statement. "In the past two years, Mega TV has grown at an incredible rate while maintaining its leadership position in the Hispanic TV market with high quality content and programming. We expect our entrance into Puerto Rico's broadcast market to follow the same path to success and we are confident that Luis will help to lead us in that direction."


Univision Names Antonio Roman, VP, Network Sales, Miami

April 24, 2008 -- Sales veteran Antonio Roman has been named vp, network sales, southeast region, effective immediately, Univision Communications Inc. announced today.

Roman will be responsible for overseeing all sales operations for the southeast region, per the network.

He will be based in Miami and will report to Carlos Deschapelles, svp, Univision network sales.

"Antonio is an esteemed professional with a strong record of success and excellent relationships in the industry," Deschapelles said in a statement. "We believe he is the ideal person to drive growth for Univision in the southeast region."

Prior to his appointment, Roman served as vp and senior account executive of the Univision networks based in New York, the network said.

He previously worked as vp, marketing and business development, Univision Television Group, where he was responsible for developing several marketing platforms, including Univision's first cross-platform program Salud, Dinero, Amor . . . ("Health, Money and Love . . ."), per a press statement.

He began his career at Univision in 1996, working in various sales postsin Los Angeles and San Antonio.
